LIVE CONCERT - 12 & 13 May 2026

Come listen to the premiere of my new composition POSEIDON!

Originally written for taiko ensemble by Masataka Kobayashi, Poseidon is an energetic piece that evokes the power of the god of the sea. The Arenberg Orchestra commissioned me to write an orchestral part to match this percussion piece to be able to perform a full symphonic version on their upcoming concert series. My inspiration for the symphonic arrangement started with the question: "What if Poseidon were the ultimate end boss in a video game?" The result is a high-energy composition that feels right at home in the final level of a JRPG (Japanese Role-Playing Game), an epic orchestral wave to add to the thundering taiko drums!

With this concert, the Arenberg Orchestra is taking you on a trip to Japan - in their own words:

“Through the eyes of Asahi and Mayu, a boy and his grandmother, you will experience the famous lantern festival “Obon”, where families gather to honour the souls of their ancestors. Together with them, you can enjoy the mighty Taiko drum spectacle of “Yoronami”, the Taiko ensemble with whom we got the opportunity to work together for this concert series. Of course, there will also be film and classical music included, exclusively from Japanese composers such as Joe Hisaishi (Howl’s Moving Castle) and Akira Ifukube (Japanese Rhapsody). Dream away during this evening full of lights, togetherness, and warm music!”
